The Queen’s Speech outlinedthe new Conservative – Liberal Democrat Government’s policies for the comingyear.

At the very heart ofthe government’s first eighteen months in power, the coalition has outlinedplans for a wholesale reform of schools and a reworking of the welfare systemand a rethink on how to tackle the vast budget deficit.

In a short and to thepoint five page speech the Queen said that public services would be reformed toencourage individual and social responsibilities.

This was the first timein the fifty eight year reign of the Queen that she read out a programme forgovernment that was written by a coalition.
